Plan Queen Elizabeth National Park in three or four days, with a realistic game-drive and Kazinga Channel sequence, lodge geography and clear western Uganda trade-offs.
Queen Elizabeth National Park can work in three days from Kampala or Entebbe, but only if you define the trip narrowly. The useful version has two long road days around one complete safari day: an early game drive, time to reset, and a Kazinga Channel boat trip.
The mistake is treating the park name as one small place. Kasenyi, Mweya, the crater area and Ishasha pull the route in different directions. In three days, choose the central game-drive-and-channel experience. Do not promise Ishasha, Lake Katwe, a crater drive and another serious game drive simply because each appears on a map.

Adds a second wildlife window, crater-country context or unhurried lodge time. The safer choice for photographers, families and anyone who dislikes a one-chance safari. Use the fourth day for depth, not for adding every sector.
Queen Elizabeth fits especially well between primate areas. If the real priority is Bwindi or Kibale, continuing west is more efficient than returning east or staying for a marginal extra stop, but the next transfer must match the actual Bwindi sector or Kibale lodge.

Protect the arrival day. The direct Kampala approach is at least seven to eight hours before adding Entebbe, traffic, meal stops and the exact lodge. A late road arrival is not a spare game drive.

Use the early hours for the game drive, rest at midday and join a confirmed boat launch. Elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kob, birds and predators remain possibilities rather than a sightings list. Keep the boat operator, jetty and departure time aligned with the lodge; wildlife remains variable.

Keep the connection buffer visible
Return east or continue to Bwindi/Kibale only when the onward lodge and road time are credible. A short crater viewpoint may fit, but Ishasha is not a sensible morning detour before the return.

UWA's rates page still shows the July 2024–June 2026 tariff, which has expired, alongside a notice of revised rates from January 2027. Neither is the current rate for September 2026, so park entry and the boat launch need a dated quote.
