3-Day Gorila Trekking Adventure
Perfect for travelers with limited time, this 3-day gorilla tracking safari offers an unforgettable opportunity to witness Uganda’s majestic mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. These critically endangered creatures are found only in Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
In addition to the once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trek, you’ll also have the chance to meet some of the indigenous Batwa people, known for their rich cultural heritage.
Detailed Itinerary
Arrival
Depending on your travel plans, your safari guide will either meet you at Entebbe International Airport or pick you up from your hotel if you're already in Uganda. Accommodation before or after the trip can be arranged upon request (at an additional cost).
Day 1: Journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After an early breakfast, your guide will pick you up and begin the scenic drive westward toward the famed Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Along the way:
- Stop at the Equator for refreshments and a chance to browse local crafts.
- Continue to Mbarara and enjoy a delicious lunch at the Igongo Cultural Centre.
- Journey through the lush, rolling hills of the Kigezi highlands before arriving in Bwindi in the early evening.
- Check in at your lodge, relax, and enjoy dinner.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience
After an early breakfast, your lodge will provide a packed lunch for the day. Your guide will transfer you to the park headquarters for a mandatory pre-trek briefing (arrival no later than 8:00 AM).
Then, the adventure begins.
Gorillas move daily, setting up new nests each night, so the trek can take several hours depending on where the group was last seen. Once you find the gorillas, you’ll spend one magical hour in their presence—watching, photographing, and taking in the moment.
After the trek:
- Hike back to the ranger station to collect your gorilla tracking certificate
- Enjoy your packed lunch.
- Time permitting, visit a Batwa community or stop at roadside craft markets before returning to the lodge for dinner.

Day 3: Return to Entebbe or Kampala
After breakfast, begin your return journey to Entebbe or Kampala. Depending on your departure time, lunch will be served en route in either Mbarara or Masaka.
